Get Fit In 4 Minutes

Here is how to get fit in 4 mins… well sort of anyway. Some of you may have heard of tabata before. If you’ve ever trained at our wirral based personal training studio for 1-2-1 or group personal training you will have at some point encountered tabata.

WTF….

Tabata in its simplest form is 8 x 20 second work periods with 10 secs rest in-between = 4 minutes. So simple and can be done with any exercises providing its done at 100% effort it will improve fitness and it will burn fat. 

An example of a tabata set:

  1. 20 seconds of squat jumps followed by 10 seconds rest
  2. 20 seconds of jumping jumps followed by 10 seconds rest
  3. 20 seconds of squat jumps followed by 10 seconds rest
  4. 20 seconds of jumping jumps followed by 10 seconds rest
  5. 20 seconds of squat jumps followed by 10 seconds rest
  6. 20 seconds of jumping jumps followed by 10 seconds rest
  7. 20 seconds of squat jumps followed by 10 seconds rest
  8. 20 seconds of jumping jumps followed by 10 seconds rest

What do i do with this new found knowledge?

The best thing about tabata apart from the fact it works is how fast it is. So people and clients who say they don’t have enough time to fit exercise into their day only need to find 4 minutes. Ideally you’d do a few sets but if you only have 4 minutes to spare before breakfast then slip in a quick tabata workout. You can also try this with boxing, running, skipping. The possibilities are endless.
